Raiding with Telt

Last night we didn't really have enough people online, but Darkfall tried to do Magtheridon anyway. We had about 8 or 9 pugs and Mags was a semi-disaster. Ok it wasn't a complete disaster, we eventually killed him, but it took 4-ish wipes first. :(

Anyway Telt won a roll on the priest t4 robe, but I passed to a guild tank who can make much better use for it. :D Caffinator, our friend from Australia, had been wearing a blue chest. Now he's got his t4 chest so I have a warm fuzzy feeling. And even though Evallen didn't get her t5 chest she got the very nice offhand that Mag drops.

After that we tried to run SSC, but with Labor Day it just wasn't gonna happen. We were not going to pug that. >.< So Kuan and Telt got pulled into a fresh ZA.

The ZA was pretty good. We easily got the first couple of chests. We started at Eagle boss and oneshot both him and bear. Then we ran into a little trouble at Dragonhawk. We had about 3 people, including me and DraNgNon, who had never seen him die before, so between that and changing up our strategy a couple of times we had a few wipes.

I think we should have gone straight to Lynx, as the 3rd boss. We one shot him when we got there. :D Unfortunately after there people were getting a little sleepy. So we needed 2 tries for Hexlord. Sadly the caster dps trinket didn't drop for Kuan :( But Telt did get the healing trinket. :D

Then we tried Zul'jin. That didn't go too well. :( In fact most of the wipes were Telt's fault. I messed up on the mass dispel at least once and was not speedy enough on healing the claw rage target in phase 4 a couple of times.

Eeyan goes on a Raid!

He got to hit both Magtheridon - thus completing his Trial of the Naaru - and Gruul. He still hasn't done the quests to get the other part of the Champion title.

It was at the last minute I realized, sheesh, I have never been in more than a 10-man with Eeyan. I did the best I could with my UI last-minute. After all his layout requirements are much, much different. I think it's still too much, he doesn't need to see party or party targets.

a new look for Kuan

Serpentshrine Cavern reset tonight, so Darkfall went in there and down'd Leo again. And he again dropped the shaman gloves x2... and nice mail healy shoulders. We had a healy pally in the raid, Crisara, who got the first pair, but everyone else was either new or depleted or much more interested in those shoulders. So Kuan has a pair of gloves to match his pants.

Darkfall's blueish-black tabard with the red and white details just doesn't look good with yellow and rust-colored gear, though. After some consideration, I decided since getting exalted Keepers of Time was such a pain I should wear the tabard. After all it also has a dragon logo on it, how appropos!



On another note, our guild leader has been lock-tanking Leo. Since his main is a warrior right now, seeing all these T5 gloves drop has been disappointing. Another lock has been working on gearing up for that, and all he needed was Magtheridon. So after we called SSC, we jumped into Magtheridon's Lair to get the other lock the Phoenix-fire band for completing the quest.

Why do I bring this up? Rahlenti went with us, his first Darkfall raid. I'm thinking he's not really been to Karazhan much with his gear. He ended up making out like a bandit, getting a couple pieces off Lurker and T4 Chest from Mag. Woot!

Mag's head

Last night was Gruul + Mag for Darkfall. Viljo was the mage tank (/flex) and we managed to down Maulgar and Gruul on our first tries. Of course this meant that once we got to Magtheridon we messed up the first time. It was due to someone not being sure if they were a cube clicker and not getting an affirmative in time to click. Anyway Mag died our second try, once we got the clicking sorted out.

Vilijo already had the wand and t4 chest from Mag. So Viljo isn't all that interested in the loot. Except for Mag's head. I decided that I wanted the head. The ring you get as quest reward isn't all that great. But it would be a slightly better boss dps ring than what Viljo had. And even more importantly it would be a quest that Viljo finished.

So Viljo bid all his dkp. I figured I might as well. If I didn't bid everything and someone else got the head, I'd be annoyed that I missed out. And if I did bid everything and someone else got the head, then that someone else would deplete their dkp.

Viljo is now the proud weared of the Band of Crimson Fury.

Leo Down

Darkfall finally downed Leotheras the Blind. For weeks we haven't been able to get him below 20%, including the first attempt tonight. Then, second attempt, he was pwned. Kuan died at 1% having gotten whirlwinded twice. I was mad and started to yell, then Leo fell.

Gloves for each class dropped. I didn't bother going for them as I knew at least one shaman and one rogue who wanted them badly. They tied on bids, and the rogue rolled a 2. Now the shaman feels guilty, but does, after all, have spiffy new gloves.

I figure, there's always next week. The rogue can get them then. Or, I'll take a shot at them.

Meanwhile, last night we downed Maulgar, Gruul, Magtheridon. The latter two were oneshots. Maulgar, though, just can't get him right, and it took 3 tries. Maulgar however is officially considered On Farm so Kuan got his T4 shoulders without needing to bid. Becuase who knows when they will bother fixing Void Reaver.

Magtheridon again

Tuesday Darkfall took on Magtheridon again. We've been having issues with healers lately. Or rather we haven't been having enough healers and that is the issue. So I told the RL and GL that I could bring my priest instead of my mage if they needed heals.

We ended up pugging in 4 healers and we still needed my priest to come along. Cerantra was one of the healers pugged in. Hopefully we can pursuade her to join Darkfall and come raiding with us, then we would have less of a healer problem!

Anyway, Teltanara and Kuan killed Magtheridon. Telt and the other priests got put on MT healing, and the resto shamans got put on group heals. It was a pretty smooth kill. We had a couple of dps deaths, but the tank didn't die! And neither did Kuan or Telt. Though Telt ate the +30 stam food instead of +healing food, just because Primal Mooncloth is so weak on the stamina.

Champion of the Naaru

Last night Kuanchichi and Viljo killed Magtheridon. They both got "Champion of the Naaru" as a title.

It was a pretty impressive kill. Darkfall went in and one-shot Maggy's obnoxious pit lord butt. The cube clickers clicked in a timely fashion. And fortunately Viljo wasn't one of them, because I disconnected in the middle of the fight for a moment. We didn't even have anyone die at all. Which I give a lot of credit to Kuanchichi for, since Kuan was on group heals.

After we took the guild first kill pic Viljo sat down and ate a Delicions Chocolate Cake. He was Very Happy! So happy that fireworks shot out his butt!

Magtheridon

Darkfall raided Gruul and Magtheridon this evening. Gruul went a lot better than Mag. As in despite wipes on both Maulgar and Gruul we took them down, but despite a couple of hours of work on Mag he was still alive by the time we had to call it.

We did get Mag down to 25% on one of our attempts, and I'm sure that the next time we try him he shall die. But we had to keep re-explaining the fight to new people who had to swap in for other people who had to leave to go to sleep.
