We killed Solarian!

Darkfall killed Solarian!! Wheee!!!
We went in there, saw the fight for the first time and got her down to 65%. Then because the RL and everyone had taken so much time with the talking and the downloading of addons, we had trash repops. Fortunately a warlock and a couple of others could rez out of range in Solarian's room. So they summoned us all back in for one last try.
And we killed her that time! It ruled! People were good about grouping up for the adds, and staying near the designated spot for the debuff. The healers kept almost everyone up and didn't run out of mana. I think we had one person die, but they got a battle rez, so we ended the fight with a full group. It was awesome!

Leotheras and SSC
Last night Viljo and Kuan went into Serpentshrine Cavern with Darkfall. Lurker had previously been downed, so we went straight for Leotheras. However Leotheras was not so cooperative. We got him down to 19%.
Kuan and Viljo were some of the last to die on each attempt. I was quite proud of this as previously Viljo had a lot of trouble with the Inner Demons. This time I had learned the wonders of Arcane Blast, and Viljo killed his demons.
It seems that our issues with Leo are twofold. First, there is the aggro problem. People are not good at waiting until the tanks have control of Leo. So half the time is spent waiting while the tanks chase him around. Second, people were having issues with their inner demons. There were a couple of healers and a hunter who were either dying to their inner demons, or getting mind controlled.
You know the raid isn't going well when the Raid Leader keeps telling everyone how easy a fight it is. Which always amuses me, because all I can think of is: "This is an easy fight guys, just do these 5 things perfectly, while standing on your head, and balancing a full bowl of water on your foot."
Anyway to help his mood afterwards Kuan and Viljo and a couple other people smashed through heroic SV. He needed it for the Trial of the Naaru quest. Hopefully this evening we shall down Mag and lots of people will get the title.
It's rather amusing. The first time we downed Mag, only three people got the title: Kuan, Viljo, and one of the resto shamans. And it had been really hard to get people to help run the heroics for those quests. Everyone was wondering why we bothered with those quests when it was easier to farm badges from other instances. Once we got the title, and cheered each other whenever we met up for the raids, well then everyone wanted those titles. :)

meet Tylara
I got home from work late last night, and Darkfall had already filled in my raid spot for SSC. Kuan is spec'd right now into 41 points elemental, which means he has the Totem of Wrath, and no Nature's Swiftness; sort of useless outside of a raid, I found to my dismay in WSG. So Kuan gets to stay parked on raiding days, and arena/BG/instances get to wait for respec. Right now, he is parked next to shaman trainer in Ogrimmar...
Now meanwhile, I just don't like playing warriors, and bear druid is dismaying. So I have overcome my philosophical objections to paladin and rolled one, just to see if I could stand playing one of them as a tank. Here she is, a little girl BE with big hair. She got like 3 levels last night as I dumped my annoyance energy at not being in SSC into playing her.
I am playing with a spec for her right now, but am not too sure of it yet.

Desktop Computer
Darkfall went into SSC this evening. We downed Lurker and made a few attempts on Leotheras.
Lurker was a one-shot, aside from Viljo dying twice. But I got not one but two battle rezs. So when all but one other mage died I was able to keep a sheep up. It was pretty embarassing to die twice in one boss fight though. :( I am blaming switching to my desktop computer. It's got a Kinesis keyboard and a slightly different layout due to a bigger screen. So there is a lot of adjustment as the keys I'm used to reaching for are in a different location. :(
Anyway we went on to try for Leotheras. It was actually a pretty good set of attempts. Our last one we got Leo down to 23%. I really need to look up how fire mages are supposed to survive getting an inner demon. I died to mine both times I got it. :( I guess there is a draw back to being a glass cannon, when something comes after you, it's kinda hard not to die. :(

Magtheridon again
Tuesday Darkfall took on Magtheridon again. We've been having issues with healers lately. Or rather we haven't been having enough healers and that is the issue. So I told the RL and GL that I could bring my priest instead of my mage if they needed heals.
We ended up pugging in 4 healers and we still needed my priest to come along. Cerantra was one of the healers pugged in. Hopefully we can pursuade her to join Darkfall and come raiding with us, then we would have less of a healer problem!
Anyway, Teltanara and Kuan killed Magtheridon. Telt and the other priests got put on MT healing, and the resto shamans got put on group heals. It was a pretty smooth kill. We had a couple of dps deaths, but the tank didn't die! And neither did Kuan or Telt. Though Telt ate the +30 stam food instead of +healing food, just because Primal Mooncloth is so weak on the stamina.

Luck o the Rogue
Last night Darkfall just couldn't muster the healer attendance for a 25man raid. Even if Kuan healed and Telt came instead of Viljo. So, they called it. Since Kuan had been doing dailies pretty solidly to make up for Saturday's mistakes, I swapped to Eeyan.
Turns out the guild leader and raid leader wanted to get some epics on their just-turned-70 pallies. So we got whispered, "fresh Kara?" and decided sure, why not.
We ended up with a couple pugs but mostly guild alts. It was only Eeyan's 4th Kara run ever, and one of those was just for animal bosses. What a relief to kill Attumen and no worry about mana! Then we down'd: Moroes, Maiden, Opera, Curator, Aran. Opera was R&J, which surprisingly enough was incredibly difficult. One of the pugs was an idiot, and the other not on vent, so the idiot got booted after the Opera wipe and replaced with a guild mage who'd just hit 70! ...and did better.
Anyhow the Blizzard gods smiled upon Eeyan. Moroes dropped [Edgewalker Longboots] which replaced his [Master's Treads]. Unfortunately they look like he's wearing galoshes. Maiden dropped [Bracers of Maliciousness] which replaced his [Spymistress Wristguards]. Julianne then dropped [Romulo's Poison Vial], and Eeyan won the roll, and replaced, um, [Core of Ar'kelos]. Then Curator dropped this kickass ring...! [Garona's Signet Ring]. Eeyan rolled a 100 for that. I guess after a 100 they didn't have the heart to say no, but here's my alt (everyone still calls me Kuan in vent) getting 4 epics in a row! I almost felt bad. The guild leader felt bad. After all here's his healy pally wanting gear. But then I decided when one picks up loot that's instantly equipped, that's not really so bad.
Anyhow Eeyan is actually fairly decently outfitted now, and I have to rethink what I was going to do for him. After all, it's no longer urgent to get the Ogri'la bracers, or the badged boots, although they are probably better. And the badged-gear stuff, hm, I should look at replacing the remaining blues. Speaking of blues, Eeyan had started to hit that blue-ring conflict, which level 70 blue ring should he wear, o noes! Now all those are gone, vendored, and he has a lot more bag space.
After we stopped in Kara, we also went on a regular Shattered Halls run to build rep for the pallies and maybe equip the new 70 mage. The mage got the [Runesong Daggar], and Telt got Revered with Thrallmar, so she can finally get that head enchant. So despite no 25 man, it was a fun evening with a lot of progress.

Heroics!
Kuan and Viljo were bumming around doing dailies that count last night. (Hyjal is at 82% done with the harbor.) There were a variety of people online and someone asked if anyone wanted to run heroic Magisters Terrace. We were quite excited at the thought, but there were no actual healers or tanks online. So Telt went instead of Viljo, and a dps warrior specced prot.
This was perhaps a very expensive decision. Telt did an OK job healing, but it's hard when she kept getting beat on. :( And the warrior's prot gear could have used some work, so there wasn't a lot of margin for missed heals. But the group managed to one-shot the first boss, and then 2-shot the second boss. The third boss was a lot of trouble. Her group had both the MS warrior and the fury warrior, as well as the mage and the engineer. The warriors kept coming over and abusing Telt. But we finally got a good kiting/sheeping strategy down, and amazingly when it all came together all of us lived. After that we went on to wipe out that horrible group of 7 just before Kael and then one shot Kael himself. Kuanchichi was wise and saved the shaman earth elemental until the 7-pull and that kept the chaos to a manageable level. Kael was made much easier by the use of an arcane prot potion when he tossed us up in the air.
The trinket from the 3rd boss was all for Telt: Vial of the Sunwell. I've found it really useful so far. It's easy to get a stack of 20 quite fast, and having an instant direct heal definitely saved things at least a couple of times in the next two heroics we ran.
We headed to Auchindoun next and Kuan swapped to Eeyan for Sethekk Halls. That went much smoother. Though none of the drops were any good, but the badges were nice.
After that Kuan came back and we went to Mana Tombs. Once again Telt was in MT with zero cc. It was very rough in places, but we managed to get through it and get the last boss down. Who sadly didn't drop the frost prot recipe for Kuan. Ah well, Telt didn't get the Fort to boot yet either.

BRD quests done!
Last night Eeyan and Teltanara spent some quality time in BRD. Not a lot of quality time, just enough to kill Angerforge, and then kill Emperor Dagran Thaurissan. And of course earn the eternal enmity of Princess Moira for killing her baby-daddy.
I have to say that Eeyan and Telt make a pretty awesome team. Yes it's a pretty easy instance for two level 70s to rampage through. But Eeyan is a killing machine, and Telt can easily keep him alive. She kept him alive afterwards when two of the draconids on the ata'mal terrace jumped us while we were collection arms for that daily quest. :)
Of course the best thing about all of this was getting not one but two of the BRD quest chains finally done.

Kara again :)
After Magtheridon last night we were going to run regular Magisters Terrace, just for some rep. However due to a distinct lack of tanks Kuan and Telt got pulled into the end of Kara instead.
The Kara was fun, many badges were had by all. We killed Nightbane, Aran, Illhoof, Prince, Netherspite, and did Chess event too. The impressive part is that Prince and Netherspite were done with only 9 people. So Kuan went from healing on Mag to being the main dps on Prince, as our 2nd prot warrior and fury warrior and possibly a 3rd dps as well died to a combo of shadow nova + infernal blocking us in. I'm particularly proud of Telt on Netherspite. One of our 3 healers went down early and she kept the blue beam person up as well as keeping group heals going.
The loot was quite amusing as well. Kuan got 2 pieces of healy gear. The Cord of Nature's Sustenance from Illhoof and the Heart-Flame Leggings from Chess. The healy stuff is good for Kuan since that (and badges) is the reason that Kuan wants to go to Kara. As we saw earlier sometimes Kuan gets to heal. And it's just really important to be able to heal well when the RL says "you, heal {that tank, the raid, me}."
Telt got Robe of the Elder scribes off of Nightbane, which is, of course, the one thing that Viljo still wants out of Kara. So now my holy priestess has a better dps robe than my mage. >.< Ah well, it was either shard or Telt gets it, so I figured it would be worse to see it sharded... Either way I know I'll never see it on Viljo.
Telt's 'reward' for doing a good job on Netherspite was the Pantaloons of Repentance. I'm quite pleased to get those for her. I had just been wondering where to put the +22 healing quest reward gem for killing Kael, and in those pants is the perfect place.

I was way too busy yesterday to post my progress based on my last list. But now I will work on it in my copious free time today.

Champion of the Naaru
Last night Kuanchichi and Viljo killed Magtheridon. They both got "Champion of the Naaru" as a title.
It was a pretty impressive kill. Darkfall went in and one-shot Maggy's obnoxious pit lord butt. The cube clickers clicked in a timely fashion. And fortunately Viljo wasn't one of them, because I disconnected in the middle of the fight for a moment. We didn't even have anyone die at all. Which I give a lot of credit to Kuanchichi for, since Kuan was on group heals.
After we took the guild first kill pic Viljo sat down and ate a Delicions Chocolate Cake. He was Very Happy! So happy that fireworks shot out his butt!

And fortunately Viljo wasn't one of them, because I disconnected in the middle of the fight for a moment. We didn't even have anyone die at all. Which I give a lot of credit to Kuanchichi for, since Kuan was on group heals.

beyond Silithus... way beyond
So yesterday we decided to clear the last of the outdoor Silithus quests with Vhaas and Khyrie. Just as we went to turn in Silithis brains and rubbings, a couple guildies farming Sanguine Hibiscus asked if we wanted to go through Underbog with them.
We were intending to swap to Kuan and Viljo but decided sure, why not. After a relatively painless run (that was my third time ever in non-heroic UB) in which I moved a lot of Vhaas' buttons around, we had each picked up a bunch of upgrades we couldn't equip for another level, and Belore hit 60!
The next level didn't seem too far away, and we were having fun, so we ended up staying on the Alliance toons. Now they are 63 and have mostly cleared the Tehemet(?) quest hub. We got the Telredor flight point as well. That's a very pretty place. I was a bit surprised that they quests diverge from Horde quite a bit.
Meanwhile Belore is quite behind in his abilities! This afternoon we will go pick up the taming needed for that. Then swap back to Kuan and Viljo, who very much need to farm mats up for raids.

Magister's Terrace part 2
Last night we signed on late, with the intention of getting Teltanara and Eeyan keyed for Heroic Magister's. We went through and got it done with relative ease, since the other three in our group were Darkfall (or ex-Darkfall) mains in full epics...
Now we can go back to playing almost-not-quite normally, without that hanging over our heads. Eeyan is now sitting on 3 spiffy gems, and has no sockets to put them in. I will need to get him some badges...! And Kuan, I am determined to get him the badged healy shield, and after that work on the other gear.
Hyjal, which was 2nd on AQ opening, is apparently 9th right now in Sunwell progress. That is No Good, but I wonder if the problem is not enough people know about the site that tracks it and the addon it requires. I sure didn't before I sat down to compose this post.

Mining
Last night Hyjal was down so I took a look at where Khyrie is. She is parked in Silithus with Vhaas until they finish the quests there. Also the thorium is quite rich in the hives there so we have some vain hope that she will be able to mine the money for Vhaas to get epic riding skill and mounts for both of them.
Anyway a stack plus of Thorium later Khyrie prowled out of Hive Ashi. Cat form does have it's advantages. Also the bugs are no longer elite so it's pretty easy for even a resto druid to prowl in, kill the single mob guarding the thorium, mine, and prowl to the next mining node.
The ore was smelted and sent to Hokushi so hopefully there will be more money for epic riding soon...

well... also...
Kuan and Viljo grabbed Isd and Ratrider and ran through Magister's Terrace, as well; they are now keyed for the heroic. It was pretty damn easy, which was a big change from the two attempts we've done before with other folks who just couldn't deal with the last pull. I love running instances with Isd.
Next, to get Eeyan and Teltanara keyed. But that will have to wait until a later day.
Still, I anticipate running this many times. I will not have Kuan hit 350 on 2H Axes again...

Kuan's weapons maxxed
He just hit some Wretched upside the head with his Slavemaster Axe of the Elder and 350!
